Hi sweetpeas 🫛
I blinked and April was over — I’m framing this as a blessing (initially petrifying for time to be passing so fast) as it means I was busy and happy, a much better place to be than the way time creeps along when you’re sad. We went to Lisbon which was exactly what I needed, exploring a new city in the sun gave me a necessary serotonin boost. The first time on a Lime bike since last summer was euphoric. The city is so lovely, couldn’t recommend it enough for a weekend away.
I also shot the single artwork for my first song?! We just need to do some retouches (not in the Facetune sense, we just want to get the image to look a bit more stylised), then I need to upload my song to a DSP (a service that distributes your music… a minefield to set up honestly) and then it will be ready to go! I’m terrified that I’ve left it too long and no one will be interested, that the song isn’t good enough, insert a million other fears here; but I have to remember that getting something out is just the first step towards the greater goal. Nothing makes you confront perfection head on quite like leaning into a traditional creative space where there are expectations and unspoken (well, sometimes spoken) rules and best practises. I’m so used to carving out my own path on social media, so dipping my toe into a more established industry has me feeling veeery vulnerable. Sharing more #content about making music is making my stomach flip but I know it’s necessary if I want to get where I’m going. Big picture thinking is firmly in action!!

It was a dream to be working with Uniqlo while I was in Lisbon — they asked me to style their linen collection, which instantly spoke to me as I’m an advocate for similar high-quality ranges of theirs such as the cashmere collection. Affordable, long-lasting basics is my jam. It reminded me of why linen is such a staple in my summer wardrobe, once you’ve worn linen and cotton clothes in the sun you wonder how you ever wore anything else. If you’re a wide-hip princess like me, this long linen skirt was my favourite thing I styled. I also bought a grey vest while I was trying things on in the Oxford Street store and they are so soft and comfy, I’m tempted to go back and get another. Sharing on here isn’t part of the partnership, Uniqlo has just made up a lot of what I’ve worn this month so I wanted to mention them!
I’ll collate everything I wore in Lisbon on a list here for ya x

Another wide-hip legend recommendation: I picked up some navy barrel-leg trousers from COS and they’re so versatile. When I wear them on my waist they reveal some of my ankle so they’re great with sandals and ballet flats, but I can also pull them down to my hips and they look cute with trainers.
For my founding members — as you can see from these photos, totes are coming! The samples have come back the wrong colour so I’m still trying to get that sorted, but I am determined to have them with you by summer.
Finally, I bit the bullet and a pair of mauve brown Air Rifts arrived at my front door this morning. My first tabi-style shoe! Buzzing.

I finished Sex And Rage by Eve Babitz — I can understand why it’s not for everyone, but personally I really enjoyed it! It’s a thinly-veiled memoir about her hedonistic life in LA, published at the end of the seventies. She’s not always likeable, she lacks some self-awareness while being convinced she’s incredibly self-aware, but at the same time her dry humour and metaphorical side eyes really shine. I really liked her reflections on addiction too, they were very honest explorations of what goes through your head in the early days. If you don’t like authors walking the line between tongue in cheek and self-obsessed, maybe give this one a miss. If you enjoy beautiful writing and a ridiculous, charming narrator, I couldn’t recommend it enough.

Summer 2025 is for washed-out guitars and ambient warmth — the mk.gee effect is in full swing and I’ve been dipping back into nineties alternative albums. My love affair with Portishead’s Dummy is ever-present and I’ve recently discovered Moon Safari by Air. Turns out Air also made The Virgin Suicides soundtrack, so I now have that saved on Spotify ready to be listened to.
As always, you can follow my regular rotation playlist Honey below 🍯

Had a small cry as I watched Sophia Chang’s LA marathon vlog. Jack ran the London marathon last weekend and it’s made me appreciate just how impressive the journey to 26.2 miles is. It’s such an emotional experience to watch someone train for months and then to finally see them run, especially when they’re raising money — Jack managed to raise over £2000 for the Royal Hospital of Neuro-disability where my dad stayed for three months last year. Sophia documents her life so beautifully and this video was no exception.

I went to see the new Do Ho Suh: Walk The House exhibition at Tate Modern. The word that comes to mind is poignant — he invites you into recreations and reimaginings of his past homes in Seoul, London and New York, asking what spaces we carry with us. You walk past every doorknob or air conditioning unit remade in sheer pink fabric, you watch a camera glide through the Robin Hood Estate days before it is demolished. You see a particularly touching apron full of pockets used to store his children’s favourite items in each year of their life. A plaque beside them reads, “[These aprons] emphasise the links Suh sees between clothing and architecture, both which are containers and carriers that exist in proximity to the body,” a reflection that really resonated with me.
