a definitive guide to the best lifestyle vloggers in 2024
if you like my vlogs, you'll love these
I am a YouTube girl to my core. I was a viewer before I was a creator, and my happy place is curled up on the sofa with a hot drink and some of those shell chocolates, catching up with my favourite vloggers.
I’ve seen some people asking who we’re all watching these days, as so many old favourites have moved on from creating or dropped off the radar. As a self-professed expert in the field (I guess it’s my job to be in the know), I thought I might help by sharing some of my favourites 💌
The key things I look for in vlogs are good pacing, storytelling, authenticity and personality. I could come across the most visually stunning trip to Greece but if there’s no chatter, or even a quick debrief in the intro, I’m switching off. I also value a good balance of cosy and outside — I love when you see creators doing the things they enjoy throughout their week, mixed in with some celebrations and events, and finally some homebody time. In short, I love a visual journal with a fresh perspective, aspirational and relatable in equal measure.
I’ve included a real mix of creators here; some you might have heard of but hopefully some new faces too. Let me know if I’ve missed any of your favourites!
Sophia Chang
The creme de la creme of lifestyle vloggers, in my eyes. Sophia is based in LA and is one of the OGs, I’ve been following her for years and the quality of her videos continues to impress me. I add every new episode of her Life In My Thirties series to my Watch Later playlist instantly! Really enjoyed watching her recent trip to Korea; I love seeing creators with their friends and family, and her family dynamic came across so well in the vlogs!
Alina Adede
A twenty-three year-old who just dropped out of med school to pursue her creative dreams… you’re speaking my language. I think she lives in Vienna, and it’s really nice to see a different city in the vlogs as I’m definitely susceptible to getting stuck in a London-New York-LA triptych. I only came across her videos recently and was drawn to her vlogging style — she’s softly-spoken and her shots all feel so intimate. And we’re really early; at the time of writing this, she’s got just over 5K subscribers.
Sarah Pan
Warm, introspective vlogs from a girl in New York who works at Google and went to Princeton. I instantly connected with her narration style when I discovered her videos, so I’m thrilled she’s just started a second podcast channel. It’s hard to believe, but it’s somehow even more cosy.
Moya Mahwhinney
I started following Moya when she was about to graduate from university in Dublin, and I’ve loved following her move to Paris and her life as a blossoming artist. Her vlogs remind me of Emma Chamberlain’s; her storytelling is stripped back and intimate, plus she’s in the fashion world now and it’s so fun to be a fly on the wall for those runway shows and events. She’s also just genuinely lovely and sent me loads of Paris recs for my recent visit, which was so kind!
Tara Mar
I’m a long-time subscriber and now friend of Tara’s, so forgive me if I’m biased but she’s one of the best of us! If you’re new, start with her New York loft vlogs and go forward from there. If you’re a fashion girl but also into your spiritual side, I guarantee you’ll love her. She makes me feel so reassured about turning thirty, as her life is so aspirational to me. We actually recorded a podcast episode together for this Substack all about this topic, which you can listen to here!
Tâm Mai
Tâm is my new favourite vlogger — on my flight to Cyprus I downloaded a bunch of her videos and had a binge. She’s documenting her late twenties in LA and her personality is so cool and fun, I want to be her friend lol. Is it too much to say we’re spiritually in sync? Maybe a little but you get my gist.
Claire Marshall
My OG favourite and the reason I started vlogging. Claire’s style has always spoken to me, she seems to know herself really well and I find it so inspiring. I think she’s probably the reason I dreamt of moving into a loft lol. She took a five year hiatus from posting to start a media agency but she just returned, and I could have cried tears of happiness when I saw her comeback video on my homepage. I’d also recommend following her on Tiktok for regular outfit posts!
Claudia Sulewski
If Claudia has no fans then I am dead. I watch her monthly vlogs the moment they hit my homepage, they’re such perfect escapism. I love how mad but homey her life appears; one minute she’s at The Grammy’s, the next she’s at the farmers’ market or the climbing gym. And can we take a moment for the intro to this video?? Iconic.
Maddie Borge
Another creator I’m now lucky enough to call a friend! Maddie is a Norwegian creator making fab vlogs about her post-grad life in London. My sister actually showed me Maddie’s videos over five years ago now — my airhead self completely forgot, so when Maddie showed up on my story my sister hit me with a mega “I told you so!” in the replies lol. Maddie’s vlogs and shorts are exceptional quality, I love the way she executes her ideas and honestly I think she’s going to grow exponentially in the next few years. She’s so, so talented.
Jess Alizzi
Jess has incredible style — I initially followed her on Instagram, saving every other photo she posted to my Style folder. Thrilled she’s extended herself to YouTube.
Leah’s Fieldnotes
Leah is objectively one of the best vloggers I’ve seen. Everything she makes is so curated yet feels so natural, so well-told to us. She’s been a nomad for a little while now, travelling around and finding her feet in her twenties. I found her recent park vlog so cathartic, I watched the first three minutes a few times over.
Damon Dominique
Damon gets an honorary mention, he’s one of the girlies in spirit. A polyglot making vlogs all over the world and, in his own words, “cursed from birth with a never-ending desire to travel, date foreign men and drink red wine.” Absolutely one of the best storytellers on the platform, his London vlog is one of my favourites this year.
Maddie Dragsbaek
And finally, the wonderful Maddie! She lives in Brooklyn with her many cats and makes honest, thoughtful vlogs about life, style, sex and relationships. Her vlogs make me feel seen — I also remember being in awe of her emerald sofa when I first found her videos. Its a winner.
